Ben Carrington

Race. Culture. Sport. Power.

Bio

Professor Ben Carrington writes on race, culture, sport, media, gender, and postcolonial theory, with a particular focus on how ideas about race shape—and are shaped by—culture, identity, and everyday life. His work also examines the ways popular culture can function as a site of both resistance and inequality.

He is the author of four books and is currently developing an ethnographic project on Black cultural politics within the Caribbean diaspora. He has also published numerous essays and articles across his areas of research.
